The Jewish Heritage Connection offers a wide variety of instructional, teaching services to the Jewish Community of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Operating out of Scranton and the Abingtons, we feature classes and discussion groups, for men, women and teens, concentrating on Torah, Talmud, Jewish holidays and traditions. We offer classes teaching Hebrew language reading skills for children, teens and adults. Every week, we publish the "Shabbat Shalom Fax" which summarizes the weekly parsha which delivers an insightful d'var Torah, a provacative Jewish thought and the shabbos candlelighting times. This document is faxed every Thursday evening to all those who request it. And now, you will find the weekly "Shabbat Shalom Fax" here on line.On Sunday mornings, the JHC sponsors a popular minyan at the Abington Torah Center in Clarks Summit. Bring your tfillen, and enjoy a highly meaningful service in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. In addition to Jewish educational services, the Jewish Heritage Connection, provides a variety of uplifting and comforting services to the Jewish community. For Pesach, the JHC distributes delicious, oven baked matzos. Several weeks before Rosh HaShana, the JHC mails the yearly (magnetized for your refrigerator) "Shabbos Candlelighting" card to the Jewish Community. This card gives the exact candlelighting time for every Shabbos and holiday (yom tov) for the current Jewish calendar year for Scranton and the Abingtons. The card also provides the exact Hebrew candlelighting prayers for every occasion. Get to know the Jewish Heritage Connection today. Rabbi Dovid Saks, |
